What Are Primary
Foods?
Why Are Primary Foods So Important?
Have you noticed that when life is good you worry less, you feel better? Perhaps you choose healthier life choices. You are motivated by how good you feel. Then, do you notice the opposite to be true when things are not going too well? You may have certain cravings, make poorer choices, and lack the energy, motivation, or desire to do anything.
Or….
Remember when you were a child playing, or even now, as an adult doing something you enjoy – that you rarely stopped to eat. Food was not important to you at those times. You were satisfied doing what you were involved in. Your life was being fulfilled; you were happy. Food was second, not valued as much because your emotional needs were being sustained.
Or…
Do you find yourself struggling to lose weight or perhaps trying to gain weight? Maybe you have an autoimmune disease, anxiety, headaches, GI upset. Do you have Diabetes, COPD, or Heart Disease? Science has proved these diseases to be caused by inflammation from stress in the body. This inflammation is not only caused by our lack of nutrition, but also by the stress of our Primary Foods.
Primary Foods are the 12 areas in our lives, known here as the Circle of Life: Spirituality, Creativity, Finances, Career, Education, Health, Physical Activity, Home cooking, Home Environment, relationships, Social Life, and Joy that nourish our bodies on a level that does not involve food. This nourishment must take place to achieve balance in our everyday lives. If this balance is not achieved then our bodies will suffer both emotionally and physically, and our overall health will deteriorate.
When your Primary Food is balanced – your life feeds you and overflows into every area of your life. It is true, that you can eat clean, but with an imbalance in one area of Primary Food on the Circle of Life, you may have a difficult time with your overall health and happiness.
What Are Secondary Foods?
Why Are Secondary Foods So Important?
Bio-individuality is the recognition that what works best for one person may be toxic to another person. Unlike Primary Foods, Secondary Foods are the foods on our plate. These foods either make us or break us nutritionally. These foods are: Fats, Carbohydrates, Proteins, and nutrients – all the good stuff the body needs for optimal function. These are the vital foods our body need to thrive. Often, when Primary Food needs go unmet, we fill that void with Secondary Food. Just like an imbalance in Primary Food, when our Secondary Food choices are poor, we suffer and become prone to disease. Our body tends to react with mood changes, stress, digestive issues, anxiety, headaches, constipation, diarrhea, or other physical manifestations. It is important that we listen to what our body is telling us. The body is quite miraculous in its ability to heal. Sadly, too often we do not listen to our inner self until a breakdown occurs, otherwise known as disease or illness.
